Sudbury Chamber gets BIG RNIP win!

We are happy to tell you about a major advocacy win at the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. It gives us great pleasure to provide value to our membership through our advocacy work and to effect real, tangible change to help foster a positive business environment where we can all grow together.

The Federal Government’s Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) program has been a vital source for finding talent for Greater Sudbury and area businesses and for every community involved. We have heard continuous, positive feedback about the value of the program which is currently slated to expire in February 2024.

Chair Geoffrey Hatton led the Sudbury chamber’s delegation to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s AGM earlier this month, where our policy resolution to have RNIP be made into a PERMANENT program was approved by the delegates by a vote of 96.08%!

This resolution now becomes the official policy of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce who will include it as part of their advocacy work with the federal Cabinet.

This program is responsible for hundreds of skilled workers joining our community each year, and we are excited to have the power of the entire Canadian chamber network working alongside us to make it permanent.

This is just one of the many ways we support our members and can provide you with a competitive advantage.
