EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

A sports enthusiast, Cora is an avid skier, a long-standing member of the Sudbury Women’s Soccer club and enjoys playing hockey and golf. She maintains good health and fitness contributes to success and workplace wellness.
With strong roots originating in family business, she is an advocate for the economic growth of her hometown, private sector entrepreneurship and creating space for community prosperity and development.

A native of Sudbury, Neil attended Laurentian University where he obtained his Bachelor of Mining Engineering. He is currently a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario and is a Registered Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.
Neil has served on the Chamber of Commerce Board for two years; he is the Second Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, the Chair of the Municipal Advocacy Committee and is member of the Ring of Fire Task Force and Workforce Task Force.
Neil strongly believes in service to the local community and when he is not leading a local Scout troop, coaching curling or volunteering for various committees, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Kathryn, and their 2 children at camp, camping and canoeing.
Neil has served as a volunteer for a number of different and diverse organizations within Sudbury, including. Director of CIM Sudbury Branch; Cambrian Mining Program Advisory Committee as a member and evaluator; and holding multiple leadership roles as a decorated member of Scouts Canada.

Shayne is a graduate of Laurentian University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Law and Justice and Psychology, an Honors Diploma in Law and Justice, as well as, a Master’s in Business Administration. Shayne continues to expand his intellectual capital through professional development courses and programs including the recent completion of the Ivey Executive Program.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Shayne is an active member of the community and supporter of many local groups and organizations. Shayne became a director on the chamber’s Board in 2018, he is a former member of the Municipal Advocacy Committee, and currently serves on its Provincial Advocacy Committee. Shayne is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Northern Cancer Foundation and a member of the Sudbury Community Foundation Board of Directors. Having two young children, Shayne is also an active volunteer and coach for many of the children’s sporting activities. Along with his wife and children, Shayne enjoys spending time at their cottage in the summer and skiing in winter months.

Mike was born and raised in Sudbury and stayed to attend Laurentian University. He graduated Laurentian with Honours from the Commerce and Administration program with a focus on accounting and eventually continuing on to employment at KPMG after graduation. During this time, Mike perused and obtained his Chartered Accounting (CPA, CA) designation. At KPMG Mike worked closely with small businesses both in the private and public sectors with a focus on advising these businesses on operations and general tax advice in addition to financial statement audits, operational reviews, and accounting advisory services. In 2017, Mike moved to industry in his current role at Ethier.
Giving back to the CPA profession, Mike currently sits at the President of the Sudbury CPA Ontario Association working with other local CPAs to provide support with professional development and connecting each other in our community.
Mike has always been a strong supporter of the chamber and the voice it provides for local businesses. Joining the Board in 2018 as a director, Mike also serves on the Audit Committee and the Provincial Advocacy Committee.
Mike lives in Sudbury with his partner and their son.

A graduate from Business Administration in 1997 from Canadore College and in 2004, Bryan completed his post graduate studies in Human Resources Management from Cambrian College. Pursuing his career aspirations, Bryan became an active member of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and has earned his Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation. He currently has over eleven years of Human Resources Management experience.
Bryan has been an active participant on the Chamber’s Board for the past three years and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors. Over the past three years Bryan has held the positions of 1st Vice Chair and 2nd Vice Chair. He has also chaired the chamber’s Municipal Issues Committee, Provincial Issues Committee, Executive Committee and was a member of the Ring of Fire Task Force.
Bryan currently resides in the Sudbury area with his beautiful wife of 17 years and his three children. As an enthusiastic sports fan, Bryan currently coaches in the Chill Competitive Volleyball Program which competes in the Ontario Volleyball Association and is a former President of the Rick McDonald Memorial Fastball League.

A native Sudburian, Debbi Nicholson is the President and CEO of the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and is in her 41st year with the chamber, making her one of the longest-serving chamber executives in Canada today. As a strong community supporter and builder, Debbi has served on a number of local, provincial and national committees and boards in addition to serving the chamber managers’ associations at both the provincial and national levels. Debbi has been recognized for her leadership with numerous awards from her peers, the province and Canada.
