On June 15th, 2016 your chamber hosted an Immigration Roundtable with Allison Corbett from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada as well as a representative from the Canadian Embassy in France to speak about the Express Entry Immigration system.

This session involved discussions around the needs of employers when it comes to the immigration system. During the session Allison Corbett of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada updated the group on the Employer Liaison Network which helps Canadian employers learn about the Express Entry system and connect with skilled workers overseas, including French-speaking or bilingual candidates.

The roundtable also involved a discussion about Francophone Mobility which exempts Canadian employers from undergoing the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process when hiring French-speaking or bilingual foreign workers in managerial, professional, or technical/skilled trades occupations (NOC skill level 0, A or B).
