More than 340 local business leaders gathered at the Caruso Club on September 24, 2025, as the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce marked its 130th Annual General Meeting, sponsored by Desjardins. The milestone event featured a keynote address from the Honourable Stephen Lecce, Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Mines.

The AGM provided a snapshot of the Chamber’s 2024–2025 fiscal year, marked by a number of advocacy wins, a strong lineup of events that brought the business community together and collaboration with local partners to strengthen Greater Sudbury’s economic landscape.

The event also included the presentation of a Lifetime Membership to Debbi Nicholson, honouring her decades of service and leadership within the Chamber and the Greater Sudbury business community.

Debbi retired as Chamber President and CEO in 2024 and was one of the longest-serving Chamber executives in Canada. Beyond her work with the Chamber, she was a founding member of Sudbury Crimestoppers and the Northern Ontario Business Awards, held leadership roles with a half-dozen key public sector boards and advisory councils, and has been recognized with numerous honours, including the Canada 125 and Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals.

The Chamber extends sincere thanks to Desjardins for their generous sponsorship of the 2025 AGM. Their continued support helps make events like this possible and strengthens the Chamber’s ability to serve its members.
