May 3-5, 2013 – Your Greater Sudbury Chamber attended the 101st Ontario Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting and policy plenary session.
The three day event was held in Chatham and saw chambers from across the province gather to hear from all three provincial parties, economists, business leaders and vote and debate provincial policy items.
As part of that process, we brought two policy resolutions forward and both were adopted (one sparked a lively and worthwhile debate).
One concerned the Ontario College of Trade and the second dealt with the Agreement on Internal Trade.
We also managed to win (consecutively) the Chair and Advocacy Awards. The former for our work on increasing Aboriginal business and employment ties and the latter on our Advocacy Report Card.
