Collège Boréal
Collège Boréal d’arts appliqués et de technologie is a publicly-funded, French language community college founded in Sudbury in 1995. The college is both a post-secondary training institution and a community development organization. The college’s main objective is to produce highly-qualified, bilingual professionals who are engaged in their community, their province and their country and contribute to their economic, social and cultural vitality.
To this end, Collège Boréal offers postsecondary education programs, continuing education programs, apprenticepship training, customised training for businesses (which can be in English or French and sometimes even other languages), applied research services, employment services, immigration services, literacy and basic skills training as well as facility rentals. For several years now, Collège Boréal has been achieving exceptional results in the Ministry of Colleges and Universities’ Key Performance Indicators (KPI) initiative. For the academic year 2018-2019, Collège Boréal was ranked first in two of the five KPIs. For the 18th time in 19 years Boréal had the highest graduation rate among Ontario’s 24 publicly-funded colleges, and for the fourth consecutive year, Boréal was number 1 in student satisfaction.
Collège Boréal is based in Sudbury but in addition to its main campus here, it operates 37 other sites in 25 other Ontario communities from Hearst to Windsor to Ottawa, of which 6 are full campuses.
