Two policy resolutions developed by your chamber were approved at this year’s Ontario Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting. The first resolution, which was unanimously approved, addresses the issue of Inter-provincial Labour Mobility and calls on the Ontario government to, among other things, collaborate with regulatory authorities and professional bodies to adopt clear inter-provincial occupational standards as a way to achieve full labour mobility objectives and eliminate the opportunity for exemptions.
The second resolution regarding the Ontario College of Trades stirred up a spirited discussion with our chamber colleagues. A perfect example of the policy process at work, amendments were made to the resolution and it was also unanimously approved.
