Chamber to host Thibeault at inaugural Procurement, Employment and Partnerships (PEP) Conference and Tradeshow

Greater Sudbury, February 1, 2018 – The Hon. Glenn Thibeault, MPP for Sudbury and Minister of Energy, will deliver a keynote address at the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Procurement, Employment and Partnerships (PEP) Conference and Tradeshow, presented by SNC-Lavalin and in partnership with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. Thibeault will speak at the conference gala the evening of Tuesday, February 6.

PEP is a conference and tradeshow designed to explore ways to grow the Northern resource development and infrastructure sectors through innovative supply chain management. The conference is an opportunity to develop relationships, discuss best practices, and share expertise on doing business in the North.

“Opportunities like the PEP conference and tradeshow allow us to bring together the best ideas and the best people to work together toward success,” said Thibeault. “Together we will be able to develop our community in ways that benefit everyone and explore ideas that are best suited for the development and growth of the North.”

The chamber has organized the PEP Conference and Tradeshow to develop connections between indigenous and non-indigenous businesses, and between businesses in Northern and Southern Ontario. These connections will be crucial to overcoming the challenges, and taking advantage of the opportunities, of doing business in the North.

“Northern Ontario presents unique challenges and opportunities to businesses,” said Michael Macnamara, Chair of the Board, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. “We are hosting the PEP Conference and Tradeshow so that businesses can hear from industry experts, develop connections, and learn from those who have successfully executed local procurement frameworks.”

The PEP Conference and Tradeshow also includes a variety of plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, and facilitated networking.
