Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce to host seminar on Bill 148

GREATER SUDBURY, September 07, 2018 – Join the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, September 13, at 8:00 – 10:00 am, for a seminar on impacts of Bill 148. The seminar will be led by Emily Blimkie from MNP LLP.

Bill 148 came into effect in January 2018 and introduced a number of challenges to businesses throughout Ontario, including a dramatic increase to the minimum wage and additional leave entitlements. More changes are scheduled to come into effect January 2019, including new scheduling provisions. Come learn from MNP’s Emily Blimkie on how businesses can best navigate the changes in labour and employment laws.

A 40 under Forty recipient, Emily Blimkie, CPA, CA holds an Honours B.Comm. degree (cum laude) from Laurentian University, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant designations, and a post-designation specialization in Canadian income taxation through CPA Canada. She is a manager with MNP LLP and advises clients on both personal and corporate Canadian income tax planning and compliance matters.
