Your Greater Sudbury Chamber, along with other chambers across Ontario, have worked to provide a strong message to the Ontario Minimum Wage Advisory Panel about our wishes for changes to the way Ontario sets its minimum wage, and to express our concerns over the impact of a sudden hike in the current minimum wage.

A LETTER was recently sent to the Minimum Wage Advisory Panel bearing the signatures of 35 chamber CEO’s requesting that minimum wage be predictable, transparent, fair and not detrimental to Ontario’s competitiveness.

We are hopeful that the panel’s recommendations include a process for determining minimum wage that allows you as business owners to better prepare and plan, and that they recommend against a significant, sudden increase in the current minimum wage which would be difficult for many businesses to deal with.

Our work on the minimum wage is one example of the issues your chamber works on to help address challenges that you face in your business. If there are other issues that are making it difficult for you to operate and succeed in your business, we want to know about it. Please feel free to contact the chamber office at any time to let us know about issues impacting your business, so that we can see how we can help.
