In September of 2011, the delegates atttending the Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM supported a resolution calling for the federal government to institute equality among all of Canada’s economic development agencies by immediately tabling legislation converting the FedNor program within Industry Canada into a standalone economic development agency. This resolution was presented by the Timmins Chamber of Commerce with support from the five major Northern chambers.
The Advocacy Committee has identified FedNor as one of the issues it will continue working on.
