Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce Honours Ten Local Businesses & Entrepreneurs

19th Annual Bell Business Excellence Awards Celebrate the Contributions of Greater Sudbury’s Business Community

(Greater Sudbury, May 13, 2016) Ten of Greater Sudbury’s outstanding entrepreneurs and businesses were recognized yesterday evening at the Bell Business Excellence Awards gala hosted by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

A crowd of over 450 colleagues and friends attended the ceremony to recognize and celebrate the award finalists and recipients.

“This year’s award recipients represent the businesses and entrepreneurs that have built our community.  They are visionary leaders and the reason why we continue to be inspired and see a bright future ahead,” says Karen Hourtovenko, Chair of the Board, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

“Business is the fabric of our community.  These businesses and community leaders have really raised the standards when it comes to their ability to innovate, the quality of their products and services as well as their economic and community contributions.  We need to keep recognizing these successes in our city,” adds Hourtovenko.

This was the first year that winners were not notified in advance.   Our independent judges selected three finalists in each of the ten categories and award winners were announced during the gala. This year, the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce received over 130 nominations.

The chamber thanks all the nominators, nominees, finalists, sponsors, guests and winners for their participation in making our 19th annual Bell Business Excellence Awards a success.

The awards pay tribute to those hard working entrepreneurs and businesses whose achievements and contributions to the community distinguish them from their peers.  The award winners are positive role models who have shown the desire to improve the community.
