Sudbury and Nickel Belt Candidates Weigh in on Key Business Issues
Greater Sudbury, October 1, 2015: In the lead up to the 2015 Federal Election, the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has surveyed federal candidates in the Nickel Belt and Sudbury ridings on their views on key business issues of concern.
Questions pertain to issues such as the Ring of Fire, the federal debt and deficit, EI reform, mining innovation and the Maley Drive Extension.
“We wanted to survey candidates to help tool our members with the information they need to make an informed decision when voting during the upcoming federal election,” said Karen Hourtovenko, Chair of the Board, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber will be hosting two free All Candidates’ Events for the Sudbury and Nickel Belt ridings. The Nickel Belt Event will take place at Forest Ridge Golf Course in Chelmsford from 7-9pm, on Monday, October 5th, and the Sudbury Event will be taking place at the Collège Boréal Concert Hall at 7-9 pm on Wednesday, October 7th. These events allow candidates to express their party platforms and serve as a forum to debate and discuss issues of vital importance to businesses and the community at large. Both All Candidates’ Events will be co-sponsored by the Sudbury Real Estate Board and supported by Hot 93.5 & Rewind 103.9.
The chamber encourages the public to vote in the upcoming 2015 federal election. Information on how and when to vote can be found on the Elections Canada website.
