The process of Canada customs in Sudbury was identified by the board as something the chamber should look into. The Canada Custom Office Task Force was struck in February 2011.

The original mandate of the Canada Customs task force was to investigate the possibility of having the local customs office re-locate to the Greater Sudbury Airport. However, after preliminary research was conducted, the focus of the task force shifted. It was decided that the task force address the requirements the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) places on airports in order to be granted services.
Research was done on the issue and the task force decided to develop a policy resolution and submit it to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) to be voted on at the Annual General Meeting in September 2011.

Upon completion of the policy resolution, the group recommended dissolution of the task force as they felt its mandate had been fulfilled.

The policy resolution was approved at the CCC Annual General Meeting.
