Chief Paul Eshkakogan of Sagamok Anishnawbek along with Will Sayers and Laura Owl from Z’gamok Enterprises spoke to the Ring of Fire Task Force about their perspectives on issues such as how industry can better engage First Nations in a genuine way and how Sagamok Anishnawbek approaches partnership building with industry. The representatives also spoke about various economic development initiatives taking place in Sagamok Anishnawbek.
The meeting also included a discussion about the potential continuation of the Task Force and next steps forward. The group agreed that the Task Force should continue on into the chamber’s new fiscal year as a strong voice advocating for the development of the Ring of Fire.
