Chamber highlights four unanswered questions

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, the OCC network sent a letter to the Hon. Glen Murray, Ontario Minister of Environment and Climate Change, outlining four critical questions that have yet to be answered regarding the province’s incoming cap and trade system. These questions are:

What will be the economic impact of the cap and trade system?
How will cap and trade revenue be invested and administered?
How, and when, will offsets be available?
What will the cap and trade system look like after 2020?

To allow sufficient time to properly design and implement the cap and trade system, we are calling on the government to consider delaying implementation until 2018.
